I made sure to take a picture of the sign to ensure I remembered the name of this place because the lack of customer service was quite disgusting. We’re in a climate where people are barely to afford their bills. If someone chooses to spend their money here, it should be valued, appreciated and met with a hello. I visited on Thursday, July 10, 2025 and there was a black male sitting on the stool the entire time. I wasn’t greeted. I wasn’t asked if I needed help finding anything. I was actually interested in some of the different cotton candy flavors; however, I refuse to give a dime to a company represented by rude and unprofessional staff. The space lacks variety and everything is severely overpriced. Who in their right mind is paying those ridiculous prices ?

The smallest variety with really poor choices, I'm sorry to say. I thought they'd get a nice selection when they moved within Optimist, but it's worse than ever. The idea of jars with single choices is great- especially to get a treat after a meal, so it's too bad.

My dad and grandfather owned a candy shop in Detroit. I loved going to work with them & eating everything. Seeing this store filled with classic treats brought back some memories. A very helpful employee showed me the French Broad chocolate from Asheville & I loved the packaging of some other woman owned brands they offer. Come to Optimist Hall, have lunch and get your sweets here! Suggestion: Bring a basket & fill it with goodies for Valentine’s Day! XO Josephine

Cute candy shop. They have some local ones and other unique candy options that you cannot find anywhere. It is a little pricey and a specialty store due to the fact that you buy it a piece at a time versus in bulk. And yet I loved that you got a chance to sample interesting candy without committing to an entire bag.
